Faith Promise

As I put my FAITH in God’s PROMISE, He enables me to meet the commitment He has led me to make.

What is a Faith Promise?

Faith Promise is an agreement between you and God.  It is a promise that as God enables, you will give a certain amount to the Oak Mountain Global Missions Program designated “Faith Promise.”

Is Faith Promise Scriptural?

The principle of Faith Promise giving is found in 2 Corinthians 8 and 9 – in verse 3 of Chapter 8, the expression “to their power” (tithes andofferings) and “beyond their power” (Faith Promise).  This last phrase refers to looking to the Lord in faith for the way He will enable us to give beyond our ability.  (See also:  2 Chronicles 29:14, 16; Luke 6:38; Mal. 3:10; Ps. 37:5; 2 Chronicles 9:6)

Should I limit my Faith Promise to what I know will be possible for me to give?

No!  Do not simply promise what you are able to give, but promise what you can give + what you must trust God for:  Do not merely rely on your limited resources, but rely in faith on God’s unlimited resources.  Ask Him for a specific amount.

Should I cut back on my regular giving to increase my missions giving?

No!  Operating costs for the church will not decrease, but will actually rise along with the rising cost of living.  Regular giving should continue as usual.

Is this Faith Promise a pledge to the church I will have to keep?  Will I be contacted if I fall behind?

NO!  Your promise is to the Lord – between you and Him!  For your own benefit, keep a record of your commitment.
