Dear friends and family,
I'm going to keep this brief.
As you are probably aware Brisbane, Australia, a city of 2 million people, the city we've been serving Christ in since our arrival in '98, has been decimated by a flood over the last 24 hours. I took the picture above about 12 hours before the flood peaked. This swim school is less than a mile from our home.
Our home is dry as we live up the hill from the floods. All the Cunninghams are safe and sound. The same cannot be said for 12,000 homes and countless people whose homes have been destroyed or inundated by water.
Please pray that God would grant me wisdom to know the best way to employ our church people to serve the great task ahead. Pray that we would view ourselves as the instruments of Jesus and serve Brisbane with great joy and sacrifice. Pray that Jesus would be seen and known through all our works, and the end would be His name and renown and the salvation of many people. As the waters recede may the church rise up.
Grace to you,
David Cunningham
