Within a few days of our arrival, we discovered that our Chilean brethren had already jumpstarted the ministry for us! Gabriel is a member of the city-wide Pastors’ Fellowship. As a whole, they have identified the marriage crisis in Chile as an issue they must face now, and appointed Gabriel to head up that inter-church effort. They have asked me (Roger) to present the vision and invite their churches to participate. Alex, the moderator of the national presbytery, informed me that as soon as our return to Chile was confirmed, they organized a presbytery-wide marriage retreat for the leadership on Nov. 26-27. Wow! The consensus among the members of presbytery is that “We have limped along with this problem for long enough. We have to invest serious efforts to rescue our families from the national marriage crisis. It’s now or never!”
